Two Portland Women Named Chairs for International Association

Two women from Portland’s transportation field have been named as chairs of WTS International, the association for the professional advancement of women in transportation. Karen Schilling, Transportation and Land Use Planning Director for Multnomah County, will now serve as chair of the association’s board of directors, while Julia Kuhn, Principal Engineer at Kittelson & Associates, Inc., is leading the efforts of WTS International’s 501(c)(3) organization as chair of the WTS Foundation.

Fort Lauderdale Intern Christopher Romano recaps the kick-off of Seven50

A lot can happen in 50 years, and that is just what the Southeast Florida Regional Partnership (SERP)—a voluntary partnership consisting of more than 200 public, private, and civic stakeholders—wanted to remind people when they hosted the first of four public summits meant to guide the creation of Seven50 (“seven counties, 50 years”). Seven50 is a 50-year regional plan offering development guidance to Monroe, Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm Beach, Martin, St. Lucie, and Indian River counties. Christopher Romano, an intern at KAI's Fort Lauderdale office, recaps the event.
