State Street Transit Plan Awarded Outstanding Plan by APA Idaho

On October 13, 2011 the State Street Transit and Traffic Operational Plan was presented an award for Outstanding Plan by the Idaho Chapter of the American Planning Association. The award honors a specific planning project showing excellence in the areas of innovation, transferability, quality, implementation, comprehensiveness, and community value. This week, the Ada County Highway District Commission recognized the award and thanked several local agencies for their efforts on the plan, including the City of Boise, City of Eagle, City of Garden City, Community Planning Association of Southwest Idaho, Idaho Transportation Department, and Valley Regional Transit. The project team, led by Kittelson & Associates, Inc., included consultant team partners URS Corporation, Leland Consulting Group, Newlands & Company, Inc., and Rosemary B. Curtin, Inc.
The State Street Transit and Traffic Operational Plan is an integrated transportation and land use plan that identifies improvements for implementing the vision of a multimodal corridor for State Street in Ada County, Idaho. The plan prioritizes roadway, transit, and land use projects into near-term, medium-term, and long-term phases. An active Community Advisory Committee, Technical Advisory Committee, and a Public Open House provided input and guidance throughout the development of the plan.
