KAI Opens Anchorage Office

KAI is happy to announce the opening of its newest office in Anchorage, Alaska, on April 1st, 2010!

KAI has provided transportation engineering and planning services to Alaskan clients since 1986, including long-range transportation plans, corridor studies, parking analyses, multi-modal terminal area studies, signal system timing, roundabout evaluations, traffic design, and traffic impact analyses for new developments. With our state-of-the-art research efforts in highway safety, multi-modal transportation system analysis, roundabouts, and context sensitive design, we look forward to helping Alaska achieve better transportation system performance in its communities for many more years to come.

Senior Principal Gary Katsion is serving as Office Manager, and he is the point of contact for the Alaskan community. Throughout his career, Gary has provided comprehensive transportation planning and design services to state, local, and private clients for a wide variety of transportation projects. He has been involved with the management and technical analysis of projects related to the preparation of public works transportation studies; development of city and county-wide arterial improvement plans; design and installation of traffic signals; highway, arterial, and street design; development of urban transit facilities; and preparation of traffic impact studies for new developments. Living in Alaska since 2002, Gary has extensive knowledge of the transportation needs of the many diverse Alaskan communities.

Throughout the coming months, Gary will be leading the Transportation Education Series in various Alaskan cities. We invite you to join Gary and other KAI staff at one of the events, which are intended to promote professional development and advancements in transportation engineering and planning in and around the state of Alaska. Topics are to include the Highway Safety Manual, Road Safety Audits, the 2010 Highway Capacity Manual, the updated Roundabout Guide, and Practical Design techniques.
